Boots 17 Berry Crush Lip Stain

9 Apr

The current trend for lip stains continue, with Boots 17, recently launching their Berry Crush lip stains. Pictured above and below are Cherry Berry, which is a deep berry shade and Blushing which I think  is a very wearable suit-all pink shade.

The Lip stains contain vitamin C, and come with a felt tip applicator and a lip balm at the end which I find to be very moisturising and soothing on the lips. I love these lip stains which are long lasting and WILL STAY on your lips till you remove with cleanser. They are available in six shades, priced £4.99 and are available from Boots.

My Current Favourite and E.L.F

22 Mar

The new Avon Shine Attract Lipstick (pictures above) is a current favourite. This is a  lipstick and lip balm in one. The lipstick has an outer gel layer which moisturises your lips and gives it shine , whilst the inner core adds full colour to your lips. I like the feel of this lipstick as it applies smoothly. You can wear this sheer or apply more for full colour. I have been wearing P201 Plumberry pictured above and swatched below. It’s priced £8.50, but it is currenty on special offer for £5.00 and can be purchased from the Avon website here.

I recently got these items from ELF:

Moisturising lip tint spf 8 Berry £3.50 – This is a dark pink/fuchsia tinted lip balm. Has a sweet sugary taste.

Clarifying pressed powder £1.50 – I love this pressed powder! It gives good coverage and does a good job keeping away the shine.

Eyebrow Kit dark £3.50 – Great for filling in sparse eyebrows.

Studio Glossy Gloss in Funky Fuchsia £3.50 – This gloss gives your lips high shine and colour, and is non-sticky.

Tone Correcting Concealer £1.50 – This is a liquid concealer, which is great for under the eyes and concealing blemishes.

Pro Mini Eyeshadow Palette cool (above) £3.75 – This palette contains 32 eye shadows, some of which are matte, whilst others are shimmery. These eye shadows are pigmented and apply smoothly to your eye lids.

E.L.F products can be purchased here.

I’ve been shopping…

1 Mar

…And here’s what I got

Now that summer is fast approaching, I thought it was time I got a mattifying primer as I’ve got oily skin, so I bought L’oreal Studio Secrets Anti-Shine mattifying Primer £10.29. A lot (of good things) has been said about this product so I am looking foward to trying this out.

I have been wanting to try an orange blusher for quite some time now so when I saw this at the Barry M counter, I thought why not? and moreover at £4.59, it’s not as expensive as Nars Taj Mahal blusher. I got two eyeshadow pecils, one in #7, which is a shimmering aubergine colour and #6, which is a shimmering dark blue (darker than they look in the photo). The eyeshadow pencils £4.59 each, are ‘waterproof, Smooth and long wearing’ according to Barry M.

I stopped by the Kiko store in Westfield Stratford, they were having a sale so I got a matt Lipstick in #62 £3.00, which is a reddish copper colour, and a glossy/shiny lipstick in #129 , £2.00 which is a brown bronze colour. I also got a lip pencil in #315, which is a warm dark brown colour.

If you pop into Tesco to do some shopping, check out these nail polishes if you can. They only cost 99 pence each and you only need two coats to get good coverage, lasted for over five days on my nails without chipping. From left to right, Bronze, Cocoa, Mulberry Pie, Perfect Pink and Emerald.

I got this lip balm £1.99 from Sainsbury, cause I love the berry scent (might be too strong for some people) and the fun retro packaging. I am not sure about the 24 hour moisture, but it is non-sticky and gives your lips some shine.

Miss Sporty Tinted Lip Balm

20 Feb

I am so far loving these new tinted lip balms from Miss Sporty. I have been using them for the past couple of days and I find them to be glossy and moisturising while giving your lips a subtle or sheer tint.

Heartbreaker Kiss SOS, Gossip Kiss SOS, and Honey Moon Kiss SOS

Heartbreaker kiss is a red shade which gives your lips a sheer red tint, whilst Gossip Kiss is a peachy orange shade which is almost invisible (on my lips ). It might show up more on paler skin tones. Honey Moon Kiss is a berry shade and of the three I’ve tried, this is more pigmented and gives your lips the most colour.

Honey Moon Kiss, Heartbreaker Kiss, and Gossip kiss (swatched)

The balms are available in five shades at superdrug at the budget price of £1.99.

L’oréal Rouge Caresse Lipstick

8 Feb

I am really exicted about these new lipsticks from L’oréal. I had a chance to try one called Sweet Berry #103, which is a kind of nude pink shade. It has a very smooth texture, so applies smoothly to your lips and feels quite soothing, like a tinted lipbalm but with more colour. It gives your lips sheer shiny colour and moisture at the same time. I also like the chic packaging.

Rimmel’s 1000 Kisses Transferproof Lip-Tint + Balm

29 Jan

Rimmel’s new lip tints are now availabie! They come in six shades priced £5.99 each, cheaper than the Revlon lip stains £7.99 which these look similar to. (I have not tried the Revlon lip tints so I can’t make a comparison) I got my hands on nothing so nude (pictured above) which is a nice peachy shade (swatched on paper below)

The lip tint has a lovely apple scent and the balm is unscented and makes your lips feel soft and moisturised. I am not so sure about it being transferproof because after having a cup of tea, I could see the peachy tint on the rim of my mug. Nevertheless, I would use it again coz I think it’s a lovely colour.

Available from Boots and Superdrug.
