Holiday Buys

22 Dec

I visited Canada in September and these are some of the beauty purchases I made. These are not available in the UK, so I thought I would try them out.

I bought these eyeliners from Sephora, a pack of four mini liners. From top to bottom: Midnight black, Kaki Green, Psychedelic Purple and Nuage. I have been using these liners for a while now and I think they are quite good! They are soft and easy to apply and the pigmentation is just fab!

I also got the above face brush from Sephora. It’s got really soft but firm bristles and is quite a good exfoliating and cleansing tool, and a way cheaper alternative to the ever popular Clarisonic. I use this with my facial wash/cleanser.

I love tinted lip balms, and I had read a couple of good reviews about the Maybelline balms so I decided to try a couple .The top  one called Grape Vine gives a bit of a purple tint, whilst the bottom, Pink Punch gives your lips a nice pink tint. They are lovely to use and very moisturising on the lips. Wonder why these are not available in the UK.

The above products are also in the tinted lip balm category. They are covergirl lipslicks in Hipster above and Daring below. Like the Maybelling balms, they also give your lips a hint of a tint and are very moisturiing.

I thought I would try one of the wet and wild eyeshadows as reviews of these have been positive. The above is a trio of nice neutrals called Knock on wood. These are very pigmented and easy to apply as they blend well.

The above products were purchased from Bath and Body Works. From left to right: Paris Amour body lotion and fragrance mist and White Citrus  fragrance mist. Paris Amour has a lovely floral fragrance whilst White Citrus has a sharp citrus fragrance.

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer

30 Nov

For the past couple of weeks, I have been using the new Express Hydration Primer from Nivea, and  I love it! It does what it says on the box!

The product has a gel like consistency and is non-oily. It absorbs into the skin really quickly and leaves your skin moisturised, primed and ready for foundation application. My foundation still looked fresh by the end of the day , and my skin looked less oily.

The fact that the product has a light texture and is non-greasy makes it a good product for oily skin.

Availabe from here  on sale for £3.99 but is normally £4.99.

What I am Currently Using

25 Sep

This is the new GOSH BB cream, which is a foundation and primer in one. This is one of the best BB creams I’ve used so far. It gives light to medium coverage and has a creamy texture. It does a good job moisturising the skin and lasts really well throughout the day without making my skin oily. It is currently on sale at Superdrug for £5.99.

The Lash Millionaire from Miss Sporty – This mascara promises to add rich volume and breathtaking length to your lashes and perfect lash seperation. I have been using this for quite a while now and all I can say is that it is non clumpy and separates your lashes beautifully but for me, there wasn’t much length or volume, nevertheless, it darkens the lashes beautifully without clumps so I will continue using this from time to time. Priced £3.99

The Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Perfect Black Orchid  – I love this eyeliner! It’s a very dark almost black violet shade. This eyeliner is one of my favourites because it is long lasting and very pigmented.

This is one of the new MUA lipliners, the above colour is called Brooding Plum, which is a dark plum red shade. this shade is perfect for the Autums/Winter. Its great to use on it’s own as a lip colour, as it is quite soft and very pigmented. These lipliners are available in Superdrug and come in about four shades priced £1.00 each. What a bargain!

New Collection Products

16 Aug

A while ago, the make up brand collection 2000 decided to change their name to simply Collection. So now the rebranding process has begun. They have introduced a revamp of their lip gloss range called Pure Gloss which is available in 8 shades, priced £2.19 each. The one pictured below is called Lollipop, and this is a very brigh pink shade that adds just a hint of colour to your lips. It is moisturising and non-sticky has a kind of sweet scent which is quite nice.

The next new release is a collection of 10 new solo eye shadow shades also £2.19, which all give an iridescent finish to the eyelids. The one pictured below is called Baked Bronze and is just as the name suggests, a browny bronze which is quite nicely pigmented and could be great for a natural eye look.

This last product has also been recently released, but still bears the old name of Collection 2000. It’s called Colour Pout Lasting Lip Stain and this is available in six shades. The product pictured below is called Tease and this is a very pretty browny nude shade. Priced £3.99.

My Current Skin Creams

31 Jul

Jergens naturals skin firming body moisturiser

This is a cream containing 96% natural ingredients and claims to firm the skin in just two uses. It contains pomegranate extract which is an anti-oxidant. Couldn’t see any difference to my skin after two uses but after using the cream for about two weeks, my skin did feel softer and smoother. Available at Boots or Superdrug priced £5.10

Nivea soft moisturising cream

I have been using this cream for quite some time now and I absolutely love it! It’s suitable for use on the face hands and body and it smells really good in my opinion. It contains jojoba oil and vitamin E and quickly absorbs into your skin, leaving it smooth and soft. Could be purchased from Boots Or Superdrug priced £2.45

Bio – Oil

I know. A lot has been said about this oil but I have only just started using it. As stated on the packaging, it can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions. I started using this oil because I wanted to get rid of some old acne scars and so far this has worked for me. My skin is clearer and brighter and the scars are less visible. I also often use this after having a shower and it makes your skin feel soft and smooth. Priced £19.99 for 200ml at boots or Superdrug.

Palmer’s cocoa butter formula fragrance free

This has been a favourite in my skincare regime for quite a while now, especially during the cold winter months, as this is in my opinion a heavy duty skin cream that works very well on dry skin. I especially love using this on my feet as it keeps them soft and smooth. I prefer using the fragrance free formula because it won’t clash with other fragrances or perfume I might be using. Priced £3.79 from Superdrug or Boots.

Avon care renewing moisture hand cream

This is one of the best hand creams I have ever used! This cream absorbs easily into your hands and is non-greasy. A small amount goes a long way to keep you hands moisturised for a long period of time. In the photo above, the tube is almost empty and I will be ordering more soon! Available from priced £3.50 currently on sale for £1.75  here.
