New Collection Products

16 Aug

A while ago, the make up brand collection 2000 decided to change their name to simply Collection. So now the rebranding process has begun. They have introduced a revamp of their lip gloss range called Pure Gloss which is available in 8 shades, priced £2.19 each. The one pictured below is called Lollipop, and this is a very brigh pink shade that adds just a hint of colour to your lips. It is moisturising and non-sticky has a kind of sweet scent which is quite nice.

The next new release is a collection of 10 new solo eye shadow shades also £2.19, which all give an iridescent finish to the eyelids. The one pictured below is called Baked Bronze and is just as the name suggests, a browny bronze which is quite nicely pigmented and could be great for a natural eye look.

This last product has also been recently released, but still bears the old name of Collection 2000. It’s called Colour Pout Lasting Lip Stain and this is available in six shades. The product pictured below is called Tease and this is a very pretty browny nude shade. Priced £3.99.

May Favourites

31 May

Clinique Chubby Stick in Richer Raisin

This is a really lovely dark wine shade, which applies quite sheer and is very moisturising on the lips.

Dirty Works Coconut Caress Body Butter

I absolutely love this body butter! Love the fun retro packaging. It has a pleasant coconut fragrance and it is easily absorbed by the skin upon application, leaving your skin soft and moisturised, with a pleasant scent. Available at Sainsbury, currently on sale for £2.24. Normal price £4.99.

MUA Lipgloss Shade 5 and Lipstick Shade 6

I have been using a lot of pinks lately, I just think it’s a nice bright and summery colour. The two above are my  current favourites. I love using this lipgloss over the lipstick, although most times I use the gloss on its own. The gloss is non-sticky, moisturising and glossy.

Alberto Balsam Mandarin and Papaya Conditioner

The main reason why I love this conditioner so much is its fantastic fruity smell. It actually does smell like Mandarin and papaya and moreover, it leaves my hair feeling soft and conditioned not to mention fruity!

This Week’s Favourites

21 Jan

This week, I have been getting re-acquainted with some of my favourite products. Brief description Clockwise from left:

Bobbi Brown Tinted Lip Balm in Citrus – This is a peachy-orange tinted balm which gives your lips a lovely subtle slightly shimmery colour and shine.

Benefit’s Benetint Lip and Cheek Stain – This gives a subtle deep pink colour to lips and cheeks.

Collection 2000 Shimmer Shades Blush in Blushalicious –  I realy love this blush, it gives cheeks a really nice subtle colour.

ELF Mineral Face Primer – A transparent primer which makes your skin feel smooth and poreless when applied. It makes the foundation application process easier and helps your foundation last longer.

Avon Colourtrend Kajal Stick in Black and Warm brown – This is a double ended eyeliner with black on one end and a dark brown on the other. I like this liner because it is very pigmented and lasts longer than other eyeliners I’ve used. I sometimes use the dark brown as a lipliner.

Avon Shine Attract Lipstick in Rose Bouquet P2 – This is like a lipstick and lipbalm in one. The lipstick has an outer transparent balm which gives shine and an inner core which gives colour. It’s very pigmented and gives a satin finish.

Revlon Colourstay 12 Hour Eyeshadow in Sable – A neutral brown satin shade which blends very well and does last long on the eyelids.

Avon Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm – This clear lip balm is very moisturising, giving your lips a nice subtle shine. I use this before applying lipstick.

Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation – This foundation applies like a dream! It gives skin a nice dewy finish and great coverage.

Modelsown lipgloss in Blackberry – This gloss gives your lips high shine and colour, and is also moisturising.

2TrueGlossywear Lipstick in shade 10 – This is a very wearable glossy deep berry shade.

Nail Polishes For Christmas

21 Dec

It’s that time of year again when all things golden, red and sparkly take centre stage, so with that in mind, here are a few of my favourite sparkly and red nail polishes. Merry Christmas!

Collection 2000 Hot Looks nail polish

26 Oct

I just love this nail polish! It’s called shimmy Shake and it is a metallic gold colour. This is great to wear on it’s own, or you could use it as a top coat for a darker shade of nail polish. Fabulous!

Collection 2000 Metallic Cream Eye Shadow

18 Oct

I tried a bronzy colour called Copper Pot, which looked lovely in the container, so I thought it would do the same on my eye lids. Firstly, the product is not very pigmented you need to deposit a lot of the product on your lids to see visible results. The product comes with a sponged tip applicator which is fairly easy to use. The shadow does blend well and I think its perfect for creating a natural makeup look. It could also work as a base for a powder eye shadow of the same colour.

Superdrug’s Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser

3 Oct

I normally prefer using face cleansers which lather up nicely, then I feel my face is really being cleaned, but after using Superdrug’s vitamin E hot cloth cleanser, which is cream based, my preferences have changed a bit, because  it actually does remove make-up effectively and your skin feels soft after use. First you massage the cleanser into your face and neck then you use the muslin cloth supplied with the product to take off the cleanser (the muslin cloth should be rinsed in hand-hot water first ) moreover, the muslin cloth gently exfoliates your skin as well. I love it!

COLLECTION 2000 AND MUA NAIL POLISHES

Collection 2000 have added a few new colours to their Lasting Colour nail polish range, so has MUA. I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of both these products. I had the collection 2000 nail polish £2.99 on for about three days and it never chipped at all! Two coats gives you great coverage.
I also love the MUA nail polish. They’ve got a great range of colours all retailing at £1 each. I had one of the polishes on for the same length of time as collection 2000, and it fared well and did not chip. You only need to apply two coats for great coverage.
